Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming, especially when you are living and working in a different country. Many internationals and professionals in the Netherlands find themselves facing long waiting lists in the GGZ system or struggling to locate therapy that feels accessible and relevant to their needs.
At MsPsychGV, I offer therapy with short wait times as an English-speaking psychologist in Amsterdam, making it easier for you to begin your journey toward clarity and balance without unnecessary delays.

Why Choose Therapy with MsPsychGV?
As an English-speaking NFG-registered psychologist, I bring together clinical training and more than 25 years of corporate leadership experience. This combination means I not only understand the psychological aspects of stress and anxiety but al the real-world demands of professional life.
Clients often share that they feel comfortable with me right from the start. My approach provides a safe, empathetic space where you can freely explore your challenges. When needed, I also explain what is happening psychologically and physiologically within your body. This helps put a name to overwhelming feelings and reactions, making therapy both insightful and effective.

How Therapy Works
Therapy is more than just talking about your problems — it's a structured, collaborative process designed to help you create lasting change. As your psychologist, I draw on scientifically validated approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and other evidence-based methods to address the challenges you are facing.
In practice, this means we work together in a safe, supportive space where you can speak openly with someone who is neutral, nonjudgmental, and trained to help you see patterns you may not notice yourself. Together, we explore the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that may be holding you back and develop practical strategies to manage them more effectively.
One of the key benefits of therapy is that the progress doesn't stop when the session ends. Clients often find that the tools and insights they gain in therapy help them handle future challenges with greater confidence and resilience — not just the issues that first brought them into the room.

What to Expect from Your First Session (The Intake)
Your first step is to book an Intake Session. This 50-minute session (€100) offers a confidential space where we:
Explore your current concerns, goals, and challenges.
Identify patterns influencing your thoughts and emotions.
Begin mapping out a therapy plan tailored to your needs.
During this session, I will listen carefully to your story, ask thoughtful questions, and work with you to clarify your goals. We will conclude with a clear plan for the next steps, which may involve going Individual Therapy sessions or, in some cases, a focused Single-Session approach.
Individual Therapy with an English-speaking Psychologist in Amsterdam
Most clients continue with Individual Therapy sessions after the intake. These 50-minute sessions (€125) are designed to help you work through the challenges identified during the intake and focus on the goals you set for yourself.
In these sessions, we may focus on:
Managing anxiety and overthinking
Addressing work-related stress and burnout
Navigating perfectionism and performance pressure
Coping with major life transitions
The process is collaborative — together we decide on session frequency and duration based on your needs. Many clients value this ongoing space to reflect, build coping strategies, and restore balance so they can show up as the best version of themselves in both work and life.
When to Choose Single-Session Therapy
For some clients, one focused Single-Session Therapy session is all they need to gain clarity and direction. Single-Session Therapy (€180, 60 minutes) is particularly effective when:
You're facing a specific decision or dilemma.
You want to prepare for a difficult conversation or boundary-setting.
You need strategies to deal with a sudden stressor or life event.
Single-Session Therapy is not a replacement for ongoing therapy, but it can be highly effective when your needs are clear and focused.
Flexible Options: Online and In-Person
Therapy can fit into your life in a way that works best for you.
In-person therapy in Amsterdam Zuid (WTC) is available on Wednesdays.
Online therapy across the Netherlands is just as effective and are often chosen by professionals who prefer to schedule therapy around busy workdays without the added commute.
Whichever option you choose, the level of support and safe, empathetic space remain the same.
